  1. To place a title on hold, click on the "Place a Hold" button.
  2. If you do not have a home library set in Bibliocommons, you will be asked where you would like to pick up your hold.
  3. You should see a popup window confirming your hold has been placed. You will be notified when your hold is available for pickup.

On an individual title page, you will see similar buttons on the right side. Simply click on "Place a Hold" to request a title.

To find your active holds, click on the drop down in the upper right and click in "My Library Dashboard". On the left side of the dashboard, you should see a tab for "On Hold". Click this link and you will be able to manage your active holds.

Note about "For Later":

At times you may also see a "For Later" button along with a drop down arrow. This is not needed for placing a hold. This button will allow you to place a title on a personal shelf. These shelves allow you to keep track of books you are currently reading or have read, and books you would like to save "For Later". Books on your "For Later" list on not currently on hold. These lists are for you personal use but are not needed for requesting a hold.
